Chapter 2 :: Soaringpaw

Cats spread out as they entered the gathering clearing, Shadeclan quickly taking refuge in the shade of trees, not liking to be out in the moonlight clearing very much. All the leaders took their seats on the highest ledges and watched their clans. Riverpaw of Fadingclan bounded over to Redpaw. "Hey! My names Riverpaw! What's yours?" Redpaw smiled. "My names Redpaw! Who's your friend?" Redpaw asked as she noticed the silver tom a fox-tail length behind her. "Oh! That's Soaringpaw! He's the medicine cat apprentice for FrostClan, but don't let him fool you, he's much smarter than he seems." Riverpaw joked and she pointed to him with her tail. Redpaw giggled. "Hey Soaringpaw! Get over here! I wanna introduce you to someone!" Riverpaw yelled over to him. "What's up?" He asked as he sat down. "This is Redpaw! She's from WhisperClan, and it's her first gathering!" Soaringpaw smiled. "I'm Soaringpaw. Sorry if she's being any kind of rude or rushy, she's always like that." Redpaw chuckled at the statement. "It's fine, really. It's nice to meet you Soaringpaw!" She studied him for a moment before smiling again. He was a dark, silvery tom with bright green eyes, he had very long white whiskers and a scar on his left ear. He caught her eyes on his scar, "Oh, that scar is from a badger attack. There was a small badger attack one day in the camp and one made it into the nursery, being me I tried to attack it, but, I got this scar instead." Redpaw nodded and Riverpaw giggled. "That just proves your stupidity." Soaringpaw flicked Riverpaws ear with his tail. "Like your one to talk, Miss I-wanna-be-in-your-buisness-24/7 at the gathering!" He ended the sentence with a dramatic sigh. "Riverpaw! Come over here!" Yellowflower shouted to her from behind. "Ah! I gotta go! You guys have fun!" Soaringpaw nodded and Redpaw smiled. "So,what do you do in FrostClan?" Soaringpaw looked at her questioningly. "Well, If its a normal day, we usually go out for hunting patrol before border patrol, leaving until sun-drop to catch and patrol as much of the territory. I usually get tons of scraped paws, thorns, and many scratched muzzles from falling from a play-fight with their comrade when no ones looking. " He chuckled at the memories and storys of the playfights. "Even though their many moons older than me and all of the apprentices, they sure are a handful." Redpaw giggled. Meanwhile, Tigerpaw watched his sisters movments, she was way to un-careful with this tom. "His name is Soaringpaw, And he's Frostclan's Medicine cat apprentice. She seems to enjoy his company." Creekpaw walked over to Tigerpaw from behind. "But, still..." Creekpaw nuzzled him and cut him off. "It's fine, let it be." She dragged Tigerpaw over to some group of apprentices, though she knew he was still watching his sister. "Cats of the Gathering! Please get ready! The gathering is getting ready to start!" Hawkstar announced. He looked at the other leaders. "Who wants to go first?" He asked. "I'd like to go first." Breezestar of Frostclan announced to the others, they gave him a shocked look but nodded. He wasn't the kind to talk first at the gathering, especially announce that he was going first. "Cats of the gathering! Frostclan has great news, but also very angry news of warning for FadingClan and ShadeClan. The bad news is that we have scented rouges at the borders to Fadingclan and Shadeclan, I'd thought I'd let you know so you'd be prepared for any battle with them." He paused for a moment. "And the great news is that we have one new apprentice, Soaringpaw, my son. We also have a new queen, expecting at least 3 kits, Moonleap." The gathering continued quickly, and before they knew it, it was down to Hawkstar last. "WhisperClan is doing great, we have gotten 3 new apprentices this last moon, Redpaw, Tigerpaw, and Snowpaw. We have noticed rouge scents near two-leg place also. I am pretty sure that they are hiding there. They have not attacked us so we do not worry, nor has any prey been stolen. If they are the same cats doing it to you, we will gladly help you out Breezestar." Hawkstar finished and Breezestar nodded his thanks quickly and quietly. "I think this gathering is done with," Commented Riverstar. "I agree." Hawkstar nodded. "Then may we all make it home to camp safely." Breezestar leaped off the ledge quickly and led his clan back home. "Will I see you at the next gathering?" Redpaw asked. "Sure! I'll ask my father if I may go, you ask your leader also. See ya!" He raced up to his mentor and and followed his clan out of the gathering. Redpaw searched for Creekpaw and when she found her, she raced up to her and followed her clan back home. "So we can meet again huh?" She thought as she followed Creekpaw and Tigerpaw from behind.

Chapter 1 :: Gathering

Paws thumped onto the ground as Redpaw pinned her mentor down. "How was that?" She asked, not getting up. "Good job using your speed instead of strength until the last moment. You've beaten me so many times now its sad." Blackleap smiled proudly. "Just remember t-" She cut her off. "To deliver the final blow before they struggle and are shocked." Blackleap nodded. "Now get up before I have to make you get up." Redpaw grinned cheekily. "Just try to." She dared humorously. Blackleap sighed in defeat, her apprentice could easily beat her even if she struggled hard like in real battle. "Fine, fine, but get up." Redpaw nodded and jumped off of her. "I think I should be the mentor instead of you. I'm much better than you, and I'm not even half-way through to being a warrior." Blackleap flicked Redpaw's ear. "Now don't you say that, surly you'll lose to one cat in the clan. I'm just a better hunter than fighter." Redpaw stared at her. "Okay, okay. I'm a MUCH better fighter than hunter." She grumbled. Redpaw chuckled in victory and looked at the sky and sniffed the air. "It's going to rain soon, lets head back." She said as she started off. Blackleap warily looked at the sky and nodded, following her. "There back!" Creekpaw exclaimed as she bounded off to Redpaw. "Did you win again?" Creekpaw asked. "Yup! I pinned her again! It's so much fun!" Redpaw showed her by pinning her down as Creekpaw gaped at her from below. "I see your enjoying yourself." Coldfrost purred at his daughter. "Father!" She exclaimed happily and jumped off of Creekpaw and went over to Coldfrost purring and told him all about her training. He chuckled. "That's my daughter, always hyper, happy, and full of great fighting skills." He praised. "Oh, by the way, Hawkstar is going to announce who is going to the gathering tonight. He said he wants you to go." Redpaw happily said yes. "It's going to be my first time at the gathering!" Blackleap watched her apprentice warily. "That she-cat's got to much power in fighting, I fear for her becoming cold-hearted and hateful with power so young." Hawkstar commented as he sat next to Blackleap. "I agree, but she's such a sweet she-cat, its hard to imagine her cold-hearted." She commented as Hawkstar sighed. "She might be sweet, but until she gets to being a warrior, lets hope she becomes no cold-hearted more than her grandfather." Hawkstar got up and leaped onto Whispering-ledge. "Cats of WhisperClan, I have to announce the cats that are going to the gathering tonight." He waited for the cats to form around the ledge. "The cats that are going are; Me, Coldfrost, Blackleap, Willowspot, Eaglefur, Creekpaw, Redpaw, and Tigerpaw are going to the gathering." He finished as he scanned the clan landing his eyes on Redpaw's cheerful face. "Dear starclan, don't let her end up like Riverstrike, please help her along the way." He thought as he jumped off the ledge, the cats starting to split up and get ready for the gathering.

Prolouge;

A patrol of maybe 3 cats padded into camp with an unknown she-cat. "Who is this?" Hawkstar demanded. "Hawkstar, please listen to me. This is Flamingsky, she is pregnant with my kits. She has come from ShadeClan, she wishes to join me in WhisperClan." Coldfrost explained. The she-cat nodded. "I am Flamingsky, and I do indeed bear his kits Hawkstar. " Whiteclaw examined her quickly. "She's right, Hawkstar. And I see no need to refuse this offer of new kits." He said. "I agree Hawkstar, It'd be a shame to not have these new kits and an extra warrior once they are apprentice's!" Hawkstar nodded. "All right, but, I do not want anyone spreading this news to other clans until the gathering tomorrow." The clan agreed. Flamingsky sighed in relief. Her kits would be safe.
